Dear Vilik,

I guess that would depend on how old you are! LOL :)

Coke used to have cocaine, but not since about 1928, I think.

Actually, raw eggs are good for you. Salmonella resides on the shell,

not inside the egg, according to testing by Dr. Hulda , so just

be careful not to let the shell drop in when you break one.

My mother taught me that 40 years ago, and she always used a separate

dish to break the egg into, inspected it carefully, then poured it into the

larger bowl of eggs, then ultimately into the cake mix bowl.

She also used to taste raw ground up fish before cooking it, to get the

seasoning right. She always spat it out immediately, to avoid fish

parasites,

she said. However, Dr. points out that that will not prevent you from

getting them.

Best of Health!

Oh my....no wonder grandma loved her cokes....<grin>

My mother would have been 13 in 1928....so she probably got

her share of coked up cokes too. Wonder how that has all

affected me....

Wonder why coca cola changed the formula? Must have been

a winner....

If it were me, I'd leave out the raw egg if the idea bothers you. The great thing about the Vitamix is that you can make YOUR food the way YOU want! (I treat recipes as "suggestions" :-)

We add egg yolk to our smoothies. Didn't know they could be damaged by strong blending. Another thing we do is add a egg yolk to warm broth that we drink in the mornings or for a wholesome snack. We add the yolk and stir well to a cup of warm broth. blends right in. We are making lots of dehydrated egg white "cookies". When we add yolks to smoothies or broth in the mornings we cook the whites in with the rest of our eggs for our breakfast.

I do this all the time. Just make sure you clean the shell before you crack it open. Salmonella is more common on the outside than the inside. I eat about 10 raw eggs per week and never had a problem. From: hai quan <hai@...> Sent: Sunday, May 6, 2012 7:35 PM Subject: Re: Raw egg

While the risk of getting Salmonella is low 1 in 20,000 to 30,000 eggs contain the Salmonella bacteria; it is an additional risk I am not willing to take.  I would suggest you do your research on the subject and weigh the pros and cons before consuming them. I googled this topic, out of curiosity and found this site and some

interesting info and facts on eggs.

http://www.incredibleegg.org/egg-facts/egg-safety/eggs-and-food-safety

The inside of an egg was once considered almost sterile. But, over

recent years, the bacterium Salmonella enteritidis (Se)

has been found inside a small number of eggs. Scientists estimate

that, on average across the U.S., only 1 of every 20,000 eggs might

contain the bacteria. So, the likelihood that an egg might contain

Se is extremely small – 0.005% (five one-thousandths of one

percent). At this rate, if you’re an average consumer, you might

encounter a contaminated egg once every 84 years.

Yes, I did it all the time as a kid and made whole egg, raw egg

eggnog at holiday times without a thought. I do think twice these

days since I really don't have ability to raise my own hens or buy

local fresh. I just don't totally trust large egg producers. But

then I am not paranoid about it either. I eat a softboiled egg or a

sunny side up without a thought.

FWIW, Egg Beaters can be used safely as raw eggs (okay, they're safe because

they've been pasteurized)...

Aloha,

Yes, we refrigerated the eggs and brought to room temperature, too. For " raw "

egg sauces like mayo, we cooked the egg in boiling water for one minute.

Aloha,
