Guest guest
I recommend some cashews for creaminess, or some mild white beans-both make them very soft textured and lovely. You might add a splash of khalua liquor as well, which would keep it from freezing totally solid-only a splash though, or it won't freeze well at all, lol Sent from my iPad On Apr 18, 2012, at 5:33 PM, Terry Pogue <tpogue@...> wrote: > i have a hankering to make a coffee ice cream. Creme de Cocoa of course, brewed coffee.. super strong with instant espresso added to that…. a little vanilla…. I need something with some fiber. Bananas would be too strong I think. Processed that and gave it a taste. It was fine but it was too seedy so I had to add a little cream and process another minute. That did the trick. Still It did have a few seeds. Raspberries is not the best choice for ice cream. Certainly not solo. It was fine and I had some today after lunch which was the fabulous Zhug. I sent you that recipe which I did in the VM of course. > > Let me know if you have any inspiration about the coffee ice cream. Pumpkin??? Or would that overtake the coffee flavor… probably. Guest guest
sweet potatoes work great with chocolate. Added in the right amount they add sweetness and creaminess while thickening. Not too much that they take over the flavor but the coffee is a strong flavor so might work. Thanks,My Favorite Video for My Little One! Guest guest
I often use frozen cauliflower or frozen zuchinni in my VM concoctions. They add texture, bulk, and nutrition without adding a veggie taste. I do an iced coffee smoothie that I make with both of those and some cabbage. I don't know that I would try the cabbage with ice cream tho. Let us know what you try and how it turns out!
