I try to "dry chop" as much as possible because I know there are nutrients that end up in the water. BUT, I usually find a way to use the water and get those nutrients anyway, so I don't really stress about it much.Before any kind of chopping in the Vitamix, I rough chop the fruit or veggie.For slaw, I wet chop - it just works better that way :-)

Hello Dennis,You are absolutely correct that you can use the wet blade to chop (it is what Vitamix recommends). Ellen is referring to my "amazing discovery" :-)/message/12271…which diverges from the way Vitamix sells/promotes the dry container…
