Hello :) Ohh I did actually type it from my recipe book that came with

the machine and only changed the words about the yogurt and fruit that I

used so thats kind of weird!!!

Trying to remember the demo of the new machine on the Q last week, and I don't

think this model has the " High " switch that we have on the 5200s. As I remember

it, the on/off switch is on the right side at the back (away from little

fingers), the variable speed switch is on the right front and the left front

switch is the new 'pulse' switch. I think he said that the motor configuration

was different and that the cooling fan ran during all speeds, so there was no

longer the need for a separate switch. (I was trying to zero in on the

differences/upgrades to the machine. So the new cookbook would be correct and

upgraded to the new machine. Anyone else remember this?

This is 100% true if you are using the cookbook that goes with the new machine - I didn't realize that the recipe came from the cookbook that comes with the new model. With the new model, the fan is on all of the time (great improvement IMO). Also, Variable 10 = high on a 5200.

I received my Creations Elite yesterday and am still looking over the cookbook and other materials, oh, and making a grocery list. Attached is a photo of the new Creations Elite, there is no low/high switch, it is now on/off at that location. The new pulse is on the left and variables in the center. I can always use a visual aid :o) Pam T From: Lea Ann Savage <lsavage@...> Sent: Saturday, May 5, 2012 11:43 AM Subject: Re: No fan to cool the motor on Variable Speeds - was - Versatility of the Vitamix

I agree about the fan cooling all the time is a great improvement. Bigger lure

for me than the pulse switch that they're promoting so much. As pointed

out, you could always pulse using the on off switch.

Somewhere, not sure if it was this list or not, someone who upgraded to the new

machine commented that the cookbook was not new, but I think the fact that the

recipe posted from that book that did not instruct to switch to the hi setting

would indicate that the cookbook seems to be at least an edited version for the

current model. Guess we'll just have to be aware of the two different techniques

for the different models now when posting recipes.
