Making a home wheelchair accessible

Hello all,

I will most likely be using a powerchair/wheelchair at some time within the next

few years. I am trying to get a rough idea of what the cost would be to make my

home (1700 sq ft) accessible. I am mostly concerned with having the doorways

widened. I know this is a very broad question, but does anyone have any idea of

the cost involved? Also, are there any government programs that provide

financial assistance with this sort of thing?
