Guest guest
Hi, Deb-welcome to the group! You can make a wonderful " jello " with fresh fruit and a product from the health food store called agar-agar. Agar-agar is a seaweed based powder that INSTANTLY firms up fruit (or juice, broth, etc) AMAZING stuff and very forgiving-if you mess something up, you can just reheat it to melt it again and start over. It will mold into a firm gel in mere minutes. You can google it for more info, but I highly recommend it. I had to give up gelatin years ago, and often use agar-agar as a substitute-the nice thing is, you can use fruit natural, sweeten it with stevia, honey, or agave nectar, etc, and YOU control what is in it. Good stuff! > > Greetings Everyone. I am happy to be here. I have had a Vitamix for about a year now and have not yet gotten into the habit of using it. I came across some videos on You Tube and decided to get familiar with this beautiful machine. I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with trying to make jellos with natural fruit. My husband loves it and I am trying to get him off of white sugars the best I can and I know that this would be a great dessert for both of us. > I am looking forward to trying some new things here and maybe sharing some of what I have found to be good and helpful. > Thanks, > Deb >
