Although I did reach CCR and MR, it took a very long time and I had side effects that made my quality of life suffer. It stopped working for me and now I'm on Sprycel and doing quite well with fewer side effects and I've reached PCRU. I hope you have the same positive results! You will find many people here who have switched to Sprycel after Gleevec stopped working and are doing really well. I am on a low dose of Sprycel, 40 mg, down from 70 mg, 5 days a week, due to pleural effusion, which is shortness of breath and fluid build up in the lining of the lungs. Also causes severe chest pains, my right side only. If this is your problem please see your doctor, it is very painful, but " fixable " . Aside from the pleural effusion, which took 1 1/2 years to show, I had no side effects , and reached ccr in 10 months, something Gleevec never did for me. I am no longer in CCR, and waiting to see what's in store for me next.
