Peggy, I have eaten meat all my life but 5 years ago when I got MCS I tried the

vegges route. That didn't seem to do anything so i just cut back on meat and

only ate it once in a while. Last week I was in a discount store and picked up a

book for $4.00 (probably wouldn't have bought it if it had been full price - so

many books, so many theories that didn't work.)

Itis called Sick and Tired by o. Young and Redfore Young. I

think they are out of Utah. Their theory is based on the acid/alkaline theory.

That as long as your body is acidic you will continue to be sick.

They also believe that we start out with bacteria in our body and it turns to

virus and then turns to mold which is the begining stage of cancer. That would

explain why tests sometimes do not show certain things.

For some reason, the acid/alkaline theory makes sense to me. I am going to try

to do the low acidic veggies and skip the meat and milk and eggs for a while and

see what happens. The book has a lot of information in it and I can't put it

down once I start. If anyone is familiar with this book or anyone who has tried

the more alkaline approach to get your system in better shape I would appreciate

your input. Thanks ss.

Oh Cameron, I so totally agree. I haven't been on this list for long & I

haven't ever posted yet but I read your message & had to tell you that you

are not alone! I cry over this decision too. I feel scared to vaccinate my

son (9 mos) and scared not to. My husband feels like your does but is

deferring to me on this one - good & bad. I hate to bear the weight of this

decision on my own! Anyway, just wanted to say I know how you feel!

Hopefully we can get some helpful information that can make us more sure of

what to do.

Hi! My name is Cameron and dh and I have a daughter who's 20 months old. She

had one vaccine (HepB) in the hospital at birth - of which I have no

recollection of giving approval for. My friend encouraged me to research

vaccines, of which I had assumed we would do, no questions asked. But, after

looking at a few sites on the internet, it was enough for dh and me to pause

and question things. We had thought we'd compromise and vaccinate at age 12,

when her immune system was mature, but have since heard that would be even

worse on her system. Right now, we are at odds in figuring out what we want

to do. Dh gets frustrated (and rightfully so) at scare tactics from both

sides. There is so much info out there, we don't know who to trust. There

are pros and cons of BOTH sides, we just have to figure out which is more

" con " for us. Which is why I've joined this email list. I just start to cry

whenever we talk about vaccinating our dd, the terror of something happening

to her because we were trying to HELP her is just unthinkable. Yet, I don't

know if I'm just being emotional about it more than intellectual. I would

appreciate any advice having to do with couples who disagree on this issue,

as well as some easy to read/understand info on this topic. I also get

scared that when she reaches school-age, we'll be targeted for child neglect

or something. I'm also a little unsure of how to write a waiver to be

legally valid - we're facing that issue now with considering putting her in

part-time daycare.

Thanks for all your help!

Cameron

That's right, and sometimes drugs just even things out. Any way they do it,

sometimes the speeding up/slowing down/evening out is what's REQUIRED in

order to help a person be able to attend long enough TO learn.

kristine,

you really are in serious need of getting someone in to do a functional

behavioral assessment on this child. You have to find out what the triggers

are. You need to have the school get a behavioral specialists...One who has

been trained to look for sensory integrative triggers in autistic children.

There is a reason that it is happening. It in NOT just

non-compliance/violent behavior. There is ALWAYS a reason. The child needs

a sensory diet throughout the day. The child needs a communication system

set up. Remember Less talking MORE visual aids. As their level of stress

rises they are less likely to respond well to verbal commands. It sounds

like if you actually do know what time this is occuring you should be doing

some propreoceptive input at that time to ward off these " attacks " .

Brushing program/ deep pressure massage. Push/Pull/Carry heavy objects.

Lots of different alternatives here...but definatly do something . WHat you

are currently doing is obviously not working.

I hope this helps...you AND the child!

My son's seizures are fewer and fewer with l-Taurine and othr stuff.

Cofactors are the other nutrients required by the body to getting something else

GABA is an amino acid....... Neurontin has similar action (or is it felbutol

that does).

Serotogenics..... l-trypothan, 5-htp and SAM-e can help balance and provide

more serotonin.

Dear All, please can you distribute the following to anyone who might be interested. We look forward to seeing a lot of you in Japan! Ros

International Conferences on Community Health Nursing Research (ICCHNR) has made a second announcement of its 3rd international conference, which represents an exciting opportunity for community nursing practitioners, researchers and educators from across the world to come together to share research and new developments in the practice of nursing in primary health care.

The conference, entitled New Challenges and Innovations in Community Health Nursing is to be held in Tokyo, Japan, on September 30th - October 2nd 2005. Social trends and needs at present and in the future will be explored, with the aim of improving evidence-based practice, education and research in community nursing. The conference believes that organisation within an international framework is needed to meet the health challenges confronting the nursing professions.

The Conference is being jointly organised by ICCHNR and the Japan Academy of Community Health Nursing and provides probably the only international conference for nurses concerned with research in community and primary health care settings.

The Call for Papers may be found on HYPERLINK " http://www.ics-inc.co.jp/icchnr2005/ " http://www.ics-inc.co.jp/icchnr2005/ or on link form the ICCHNR website: HYPERLINK " http://www.icchnr.org " www.icchnr.org . The deadline for papers is January 31st 2005. Presentations may be oral, poster, workshop or for network meetings and there is a wide range of abstract categories.

Please note that members of ICCHNR (and JACHN) benefit from a reduction of 5,000 Japanese yen on the conference registration fee. It costs £10.00 to join ICCHNR and you will find an application form on the ICCHNR web site HYPERLINK " http://www.icchnr.org " www.icchnr.org - so join today to benefit from this reduction!

When my husband had his hips resurfaced, his doctor was using the new

technique for knees.

The person who was operated on after Ed, had her knees done- the

operation took over 4 hrs, but the next day she was up and in very little

pain. When I asked Dr Mont he said most drs do not want to take the

time!
