Guest guest
Funny you should mention that. I was just telling my Mother this morning about some of the most realistic dreams I've ever remembered, but they've just started in the last few months. I only have them at night but not during the day when I take a nap. I usually take my meds later morning or lunch depending on when I eat. Sometimes, it is evening. I will start watching and see if there's a correlation between the dreams and time of day I take my Gleevec. It's really weird how I also wake up and then resume my dream as soon as I go back to sleep. I keep trying to write them down, but I can remember every detail as long as I lay still upon waking. The minute I sit up and try to write, it goes away. Holy cow, now there's another fun thing to look forward to!!!!! Mine are so vivid and real I keep thinking how they would make good short stories or movies. Of course, mostly strange stories or movies, but ???????? I said that I would ask this group for thier advise or experience and I have posted her experience below. Mine are still happening and I dont get restful sleep. I have tried relaxation, warm baths, music, not eating too soon before bed- you name it- everything. My dreams are nothing like I've ever experienced before. Maybe I had them before but could never remember them. It's like an ongoing LSD trip ( imagine thats what its like) and not very nice. I remember every detail and I can get up in the night and have a cuppa and go back to bed and resume the dream like a movie. Only wish it was tranquil and nice- but not. I put it down to stress until my original haem asked me if I had vivid dreams as she had other patients it was affecting. Shes now gone on maternity leave and I would love to have followed it up with her. One theory I havent tried is if I dream if I have an afternoon nap as I havent had an arvo sleep as an active 8 year old keeps me on the go. I was wondering it may be because I take meds at night but I couldnt change to morning as nausea affects me and I wouldnt be able to go to work. Just something thats bugging me and I wondered if it affected anyone else. "
Guest guest
Often vivid dreams are associated with anti-depressants. I briefly took Paxil last year, for maybe a few months. My Onc told me he thought it would help me get over the hump with the CML. To be 100% honest, I wish I had never said ok, long story! Anyhow, while taking the Paxil, the dreams were SO real and every time I shit my eyes, I did not even have to be asleep. It was so weird. So, you might as your friend is they are also taking an anti-D? Cheers, Chris **************Need a new ride? Check out the largest site for U.S. used car listings at AOL Autos. Guest guest
Sue, I have vivid dreams, but i do take Ambien 10 mg every night. I attribute the vivid dreams to that, not to the Gleevec. @...: hollie@...: Sat, 26 Apr 2008 02:43:51 +0000Subject: [ ] Vivid Dreams and Glivec - Reaction Good Morning everyoneHas anyone heard of this reaction or experienced this reaction ofhaving vivid dreams from taking glivec. An Australian lady has been experiencing this and when asked one other person said they also have the same experience but he is on an 800mg dose.I said that I would ask this group for thier advise or experience and I have posted her experience below. Please adviseKeep WellSue(Australia)Australian CML'er experience - Young Mum " Just asking the question again if anyone has vivid dreams since taking Glivec. . Guest guest
, I too take Ambien 10 mg almost every night. I try not to take it on weekends to give my body a break... Usually resulting in less sleep on weekends... But I was thinking the EXACT opposite. I do not dream at all on the Ambien. HMMM. Guest guest
Hi--I do have vivid dreams too, but I chalked them up to the multivitamin I was taking every day to keep up my strength/energy. Those B vitamins always seem to make me dream very vividly. But, maybe it is the Gleevec. I take it at night too. Maybe I will try stopping the vitamins for a bit and see if I still get the dreams. I will let you know!
