Temari is Japanese embroidered thread balls... aside from their beauty they are an exercise in what I call " relational geometry " in that there is no set measurement, but everything is fitted together and made in relation to the other parts. Kind of hard to explain but I think folks on here will understand it, sort of using a guideline to make something beautiful, but with infinite variations. When I teach Temari it's amazing what my students come up with, combinations I would never have used, yet they are lovely. I think natural perfumery must be very similar in that way. I'll probably lurk for a while, absorbing and learning... and eventually asking typical newbie questions. Thanks everyone for a VERY interesting list. Hope to learn here faster and more easily though some of the " language " is as challenging! Silk reeler, eh? I never tried that, love silk though. Guest guest
welcome to the group we understand what your going thru josie Skotland <shan62578@...> wrote: Hey everyone.I am a new member here. I am , 28. I have moderate to severe chronin pain. Mostly in my legs, hips, thighs and feet. Though now is has gone to my arms. Been getting back pains as well. And headaches. I don't sleep at night, 'cause of the pain... I sleep during the day, because of my meds that I am on. I am 6 different types of meds. I also suffer swelling in my thighs and legs and ankels. I am on meds for that too. I was just recently put on a mucsel relaxer. It's helping. It's for my back mainly. I don't get out as I used to. But when I do, I come in major pain. I only have a few friends that understands, though they don't have what I have. I miss out on a lot because of this pain. I used to be really active in my church, but now not so much becasue of the pain. I can't sit for a long period of time or stand. If I stand for too long, my feet/toes become numb. I have had this since 2003. I am on SSI and DSHS. I don't work. I wish I did though. I hate it when someone says, oh you'll be fine someday. OR if you just get out and about you'll be ok. OR if you lose weight you'll be in less pain.... I hate those. Mostly comes from family members. They have NO idea the pain I am in. I also have mild depression. Had since last year. I write poetry. It's a MAJOR passion and it is also therapy for me as well. Anyway, I am glad that I am in a group of people who understands what I am going through on a daily basics. When I am in severe pain, (which lasts up to 4 to 5 days) I am in bed... I don't think about anything at all... other than the fact, that I am in pain. I stay away from water.. 'cause it burns my skin. I can't have anything on my lap. Or nothing touch my skin for that matter. I get stingy pains as well. I am partielly deaf. My parents have been so supportive since I have been disabled. So has my sister. I have 2 brothers. One of them (he is 22) always says, you can do this.. or you know you can work or drive. I hate it when he says that. Even though I know he means well. I get upset when he says stuff like that. Because I KNOW I can't work or drive.. (driving part, is I just dont' want to, period) I have a great support system with my online friends and friends as well. But still, to talk to someone who actually understands what your going through is nice. Anyway, hope to hear from all of you soon.~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~MySpace: http://myspace.com/ctr625~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/p/_Skotland/502509057~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~Check out my slideshows: http://ctr62578.slide.com/~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 360 page: http://360./howie_lvr~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~Check out Otis Spunkmeir: http://www.catster.com/cats/364695~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~AIM: CTR62578MSN: CTR62578@...: howie_lvr@...~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~"Through the good and bad times, I still have my wings, to fly me to my dreams" ~Flying With Wings by Skotland_________________________________________________________________Watch free concerts with Pink, Rod , Oasis and more. Guest guest
. You poor thing. I was in a world of hurt when I was on the pain meds. It messed me up pretty bad. I occasionally take a tylonol/motrin combo when it gets really bad. Now that I am off all the stuff, even depression meds, I sleep better and feel better. Everyone is different, but the Nsaids mess your gut up, and coat your intestins lining. This help to hold in bad bacteria, which damages your immune system. I cut out eating salt, and limit processed foods with salt. ( rinse canned veggies). That and cutting out all sodas made me loose 15 pounds alone, and swelling in my hands and feet have left completely. The poetry thing is great, you are on the right track there. My old man never believed I was ill, or disabled, he always called me a lazy b@#$% all my life. Even after I left home and had 7 reconstructive spinal surgeries, a couple knee surgeries, ect- he was too dumb and self involved to care or comprehend what was going on. Concerning the church thing. Good luck and get ready to start researching and educating everyone you know about this disease - since it seems (in my own personal experience) not too many people know about it. Have you considered taking his tonsils out? Do you use the sterioid? Thanks for your support and good luck to you as well. Guest guest
I haven't had his tonsils out. Surgery scares me. And from what I understand it's only like a 30 % cure rate . . . could be wrong here. I think if it was 50% or 70% I would do it . . . but 3 out of 7? And then for what if it didn't work? I don't know. It scares me though. We do use the steriod which is successful for us - check out my previous post yesterday for details . . . so I don't know. Wondering about the tagament today - we have his 4 year old checkup today - so I might question the tagament thing. I don't know about surgery though . . . putting him out scares me - but I am a worrier so there you go. Guest guest
Hi Rita, I’m in Andover. You can get the titers done at your Dr.s for tetnus. I had it done at mine but his levels were low normal and my Dr. said that meant he would still recommend getting another shot. So I did the religious exemption. I state religious reasons (without being specific of which faith) and then I print out the MA law and bring both in. I have not had a problem. So you have options. – From: EOHarm [mailto:EOHarm ] On Behalf Of ritas2boys Sent: Tuesday, June 19, 2007 10:34 AM EOHarm Subject: New member Hi....new to this group and happy to be here. I am the mom of two boys ages 10 and 12. The 10 yr old is dx on the autism spectrum. My 12 year old son has never been dx with anything, does well in school etc but definitely has a touch of maybe adhd and/or sensory issues. Also loaded with allergies and asthma. Anyway....he (12 yr old) has the dreaded doctors appt and at this age they will be requiring shots for entrance to his new junior high school. He has had all other vacinations up to date but now that I know better do not wish to further vacinate. How can I get out of this? I have heard that you can request that the doctor test for titers? How is this done? thanks for any advice. Rita in Boston

Guest guest
Hi Rita...long time no email! Welcome! I had my NT son partially vax'd before we had made the vax-autism connection with my oldest. I filed a religious exemption with the school and didn't have a problem (maybe I'm just lucky though...). I can email you the letter and copy of the Mass. law offlist if you'd like. Take care, Cheryl > > > > Hi....new to this group and happy to be here. I am the mom of two boys > > ages 10 and 12. The 10 yr old is dx on the autism spectrum.
