Guest guest
Dear Sue, Now that is novel to use cold soup spoons from the freezer, don't they stick to your skin? My doctor told me a long time ago that patients share with him what they do and one was to put cold boiled egges on their eyes to get rid of the puffiness. I never did it, so I don't know how well it works. You seem to be getting around better if you are going to tend to the animals, like putting feed in their baskets. Most animals do not know when to stop eating, I think they have hallow legs. LOL. ___________________________________________________________________________ Dear China, Thank you for identifying yourself, I was going to ask that someone do that because the card had no name or return address. That was so sweet of you to take it upon yourself to do that, sending a card for the whole group. We appreciate all the cards and email messages. Ceil sent a card wondering what doctor had invented the hospital gown. Inside, it revealed his name, Dr. Seymour Butt. I left it on the table for all the nurses to see and they all left the room laughing. There was a man down the hall shouting " help " so often I went out in the hall and when I looked in his room, his eyes were closed. He shouted so much, I went again and there he was exposed for all the world to see. I quickly covered his private parts. I asked if he was calling and he said no one was answering him. The call button was on a table he couldn't reach, so I asked if he could see and he said " a little " . His eyes are always closed. I showed him the combination TV remote and nurse call button, and showed him how to call (I don't think he was lucid). When the nurse answered, he said nothing and still no one came. I buzzed again and told him to speak and tell the nurse what he needed. He asked if someone would come and speak to him for a few minutes. I saw the CNA go in and she stayed with him for a while. He told me he was hungry and I asked if he had family, but he said he didn't know where they were. I really don't know what to believe. I don't know if he is eating when they bring this tray. I always see an extra tray on the cart that is untouched, so it could be his. I want to help the poor man, but if he is going to flash me every time I go in, I will have to wear sun shades. LOL. Jimmy may be going home Sunday. I don't want to rush anything. He called for help this morning and no one answered his call, either, it was after the sitter had left. He raised holy hell with the crew and they wanted to blame the one CNA who is very nice to him, so he came to her rescue before they wrote her up. Today I asked if the cleaning crew had passed and when they answered in the affirmative, I said my husband's room has not been cleaned. They said they would report it, but to whom, it didn't get done. Before I left there was a new crew and I read them the riot act and said tomorrow it would be 3 days since anyone had cleaned his room and that I thought he deserved better than that after having heart surgery. I said someone would have to answer, because I was going to talk to the administrator about that. My son said right after I left they came and cleaned the room. If you are a patient, you need an advocate and the poor man down the hall had no one. I have no idea who he is, but he had heart surgery if he is on that floor and someone should be with him. That's my latest update. Blessings, Lottie
Guest guest
Lottie- The hospital should have a social worker and a patient advocate. If not the hospital the state. I feel so sorry about that man and Jimmy- his room should be kept spotless. You are a good woman. Happy Mother's Day.
