Is it possible that you did infact burn your tongue with tea (or anything else) while it was numb and because it was numb, you didn't notice it until now? If not, that is a weird side effect but I suppose a much better one than any of the ones you had on Interferon Keep fighting, we're all rooting for you! Guest guest
I GUESS ANYTHING IS POSSBILE, BUT THE NUMB TONGUE WASN'T THAT NUMB! IT'S JUST A FUNNY SENSATION, AND I WAS CAREFUL. SOMEONE ELSE HAS NUMBNESS, BUT AROUND THE MOUTH, NOT THE TONGUE. RIGHT, ABOUT INTERFERON, I'LL TAKE A NUMB TONGUE ANY TIME INSTEAD OF WHAT I WENT THROUGH ON INF. BAAAAD MEMORIES! Guest guest
Thanks for the update, Bobby. I've heard so many stories from people who were on interferon prior to Gleevec. Ugh. Keep your spirits and energy up! Sending best wishes and cheers to you! L Re: [ ] Re: Ann Arbor I GUESS ANYTHING IS POSSBILE, BUT THE NUMB TONGUE WASN'T THAT NUMB! Guest guest
Hi folks, well, I had my 3 rd infusion, not as bad as the first but not as good as the second. Felt too nauseous to go to dinner, so we came right on home. Too bad, as we were going to have dinner with len and Ernie, and Jerry Mayfield and his wife and another young man who we had met in Houston, . We did get to visit with them a few minutes, but I was sitting in a wheel chair hanging on to a bucket, lest I toss my lunch, and felt pretty stupid sitting there trying to make nice nice. Anyway, my labs were very good, hgb. up to 11.1, wbc - 3.1, plts. 137, and rbc 3.52. I had to have pulmonary function testing done, Dr. Talpaz is very cautious about the lungs, I believe two other people have had lung problems, so he is very careful not to have a repeat. As for the legs and poor circulation and leg pain, I have been to a new vasc. dr. and in two weeks go in for arterial testing, have to fast for 5 hours, I think I have had this done before, they shoot dye into your bod nd watch where it goes! sure there;'s a name for it, right now I don't recall. He did not seem to think it was due to the drug. But everyday I wake up my right little toe hurts , so I take an Aspirin and the pain goes away until the next day. My good buddy Len looked fabulous, as usual, you never see the lady when she is NOT totally coordinated, colors, jewelry, hair fru-frus- and what ever, she is without a doubt the lovliest lady I have ever met, and we have such a good time together. And that in itself is funny. She is a southern lady, speaks softly and slowly. I am a New Yorker, speak fast, and harsh, and we are both always saying, " Pardon me, what did you say? " Anyway, that's it 'til next week, later, Bobby a (Bobby) Doyle Brecksville, Ohio, USA DX 05/1995 02/2000 - Gleevec Trial/OHSU 06/2002 - Gleevec/Trisenox Trial/OHSU 06/2003 - Gleevec/Zarnestra Trial/OHSU 04/2004 - Sprycel Trial/MDACC, CCR in 10 months #840 - Zavie's Zero Club 09/2006 - out of CCR 04/29/08 - XL228 Trial/ U.of Michigan
