Guest guest
Thanks for the information. That's encouraging. This has been some year since my diagnosis. It's like I've been living underwater. I didn't know how much to be concerned. My onc said she wasn't concerned, but still... I will ask her those questions. Thanks for the tip. By most lab's standards, a result of 0.04 would be considered a 3 log reduction so this is a very good result. I would ask your doctor though, if both PCR's were done at the same lab and what was the sensitivity of the tests. Regardless of the answers though, I don't think you have anything to worry about. You may well find that you continue to bounce in and out of PCRU. Take care, Tracey dx Jan 2002 a fellow PCR bouncer > > I was diagnosed with CML last year in April. Guest guest
Oops. Didn't realize using this email account would result in the publication of my real name. If it's all the same, I think I'll just go with my real name rather than the account name. Again, thanks, for the response. Ted Ted Fontenot <mortycausa@...> wrote: Thanks for the information. Guest guest
Thanks for the reply. I guess I knew it, and that's what my doctor says, but it's nice, and a relief, when it comes from the pros. Yes, I am scheduled for another PCR. Will let you all know of the results. Ted doveh12 <deh12@...> wrote: Hi, Morty. I've had similar results -- a negative, followed by a slight positive, followed by another negative, etc. Results can fluctuate like that without causing concern. My doctor has advised me not to worry -- and not to think about alternative therapies unless we see a clear trend showing increases over several PCRs. You've had a great response -- PCRU in 9 months after diagnosis! If I were you, I wouldn't worry. Did your doc schedule another follow-up PCR?
