welcome sharon to the group you just joined the greatest bunch you won't

feel alone anymore, there isn't a question that someone can't answer and if they

can't you'll get a web site that does : I feel very lucky to have joined and

so will you; keep on living . just a question what is leaky heart matrial

valve ? never heard of it see ? you're already contributing to the knowledge of

the group or at least to me I wax dx.in 2006 i'm on gleevec400 mga day

stated with ph+130% now ph+00.01 so gleevec does work for some people hope it

does for you too.there are side effects but most are doable.

Aliza,

Glad to hear you are doing so well on your current treatment

plan.I hope for the same.The Dr tried to explain leaky matrial valves

to mean but basically stated my valves don't work properly and I may

develope a need to be on oxygen to get enough oxygene to my heart and

lungs.Causes some shortness of breath at times.So far I haven't had

any major problems from this.I did stop smoking just prior to my DX

about 3 years ago.Don't miss the dang cigs one bit.Now if I can just

get my son to stop.
