Sent: Wednesday, April 09, 2008 1:27 PM Subject: [ ] Ladies can you help me with this??? Tracey maybe? Hey all- I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas/suggestions about this. Its a female issue so you " guys " could get really bored or yucked with this... Let me first start by saying that I had a complete hysterectomy back in 2001 (7 years ago) at the age of 29 due to severe complications of endometriosis. I then went into a state of menopause as the docs only kept me on Premerin for 6 months as all the controversy came out with HRT treatments, so everything was stopped. Well as I have reported before, I have every symptom and probably more that they haven't documented yet, of menopause. Including now physical changes of vaginal atrophy. I am only 36 and I feel like I am going shrivel up into an old lady by 40. So, after not having anything done and docs not letting me do anything as far as taking estrogen to reverse some of these symptoms, I decided to see a new doc in my area on Friday. He was wonderful and he was greatly concerned at the extent of the symptoms. He went as far as to goggle Spyrcel and estrogen replacement as he had a RN in his office working on it too. He decided that there was nothing stating that CML was an estrogen cancer and that he thought for quality of Life and atrophic reason, I needed to start something. He gave 3 RX's and told me to read about it and pick which way I wanted to treat with estrogen. He wants it locally treated and not systemic estrogen. So, I can do a patch, pills to be inserted or a ring that stays put for 3 months at a time. Women, ya get the area I am talking about...... He also ordered a mammogram and a dexa scan/ Mamo is negative but dexa scan shows osteoporosis and osteopenia in the hips and spine. Remember I am only 36......Ugh... He also wanted to start a higher dose calcium and decided that he should probably check my Vitamin D level and this had never been done.. Well, I get a call from him this morning and then his RN trying to get a hold of me. I called them back and he wants to see me this afternoon as the level was critically low and he wants to have a consult with me. Reading the side effects of low Vit D (muscle pain, fatigue, cancer and immunity risks) I wonder how much of what I put towards my CML and drug that maybe should be a blame to low Vit D count? Any thoughts on all this? Do you think the estrogen, calcium and I am sure some sort of Vit D corrective med, is all safe to use with CML and Spyrcel??? I have to head to see him in an hour so I will report what he says........ Thanks in advance for the help. Hugs and Hope- 36 CML 5/13/05 Gleevec 800mg until 8/07 Spyrcel 100 mg since 9/07 Wife and mother of 3 (12,9,7) # 907 in Zavie's Zero Club **************Planning your summer road trip? Guest guest
hi , I'm constanly low on vitamine D my gp doc put me on perscription D 50,000iu once a week for a month then one pill twice a month almost 2 years ago, every time he tried to cut it my D went back down to 12. Normal is 32 to 100. My naturopath dr said for cancer patients it should be around th 50 range so he changed me to over the counter d3 1000mg twice a day and fish oil with d and that seems to be working better I don't know how long i was vitamin D deficient before i was dx 1 to 1 1/2 years ago,but i had cml probably 8 months befor i got dx looking back at all my labs. I have several friends in their forty's a sister and mother and they are all vitamin D deficient. I am 58 so i'm assuming it is hormonal.I had so much pain everywere in my body i don't know if it was the cml or the low vitamine D. I make sure i get the vitamine D 25 hydroxy test every 3 months but i feel much better now.As for your other situation the gynecologist gave me a cream called estrace, you insert it twice a week, and it helped He also said it was safe because very little of it gets in your system. I also tried the pill you insert which was the easiest. He also told me about the ring but he said you have to be careful of infections with that. It's a pain having those problems at your age when it should be the best time of your life, hope you can get some help soon.Let us know what works love and hugs to all Esther dx 10/06 Zavie #1092 > > Anxious to hear what he had to say. > > Glood luck > > Sharon > > > > _____ > > From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of > vegasrnjen@... > Sent: Wednesday, April 09, 2008 1:27 PM > > Subject: [ ] Ladies can you help me with this???
