The dose of 100 mg has to be in the morning to be considered the " best

dose? " I take mine in the evening at bedtime and was wondering if should

switch

the time.....I am also PCRU.

Hi Everyone,

Some of you may already know this but if you don't here's some news on what

is now considered the best dosage of Sprycel. I had my quarterly check-up

today (all counts excellent and PCRU). I've been on the trial at the University

of loand for more than 2 years and have been PCRU for about a year with

very low counts prior to that.

I take 100 mg once in the morning daily. That is now considered the best

dosage of Sprycel in trials. For those on higher dosages I don't know but for

those at 100 mg or less, the best dosage is 100 mg a day once in the morning.

People on other dosages and those who take their dosage twice a day instead of

once may have their dosages changed on trials because of " safety " issues

according to Bristol Meyers Squibb. They don't say exactly what those issues

are

but I imagine it has to do with side effects such as pleural effusion.

I feel fortunate that I've been on what has now proven out to be the best

overall dosage and the proof lies in the fact that although I had one bout with

pleural effusion and peripheral neuropathy, 2 1/2 weeks off Sprycel and the

symptoms disappeared.

Cheerfully,

I agree with susan. If it works don't break it. Know what I mean? They told

me I could take my Tasigna 100mg in the morning and 100mg at night. I have

always taken 200mg in the morning and I am doing so well I decided to

continue doing 200mg in the morning.

Don't know, . If you haven't had side effects and you're PCRU I

personally wouldn't worry about it! You're doing great!

Cheers,
