Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Some of you may already know this but if you don't here's some news on what is now considered the best dosage of Sprycel. I had my quarterly check-up today (all counts excellent and PCRU). I've been on the trial at the University of loand for more than 2 years and have been PCRU for about a year with very low counts prior to that. I take 100 mg once in the morning daily. That is now considered the best dosage of Sprycel in trials. For those on higher dosages I don't know but for those at 100 mg or less, the best dosage is 100 mg a day once in the morning. People on other dosages and those who take their dosage twice a day instead of once may have their dosages changed on trials because of " safety " issues according to Bristol Meyers Squibb. They don't say exactly what those issues are but I imagine it has to do with side effects such as pleural effusion. I feel fortunate that I've been on what has now proven out to be the best overall dosage and the proof lies in the fact that although I had one bout with pleural effusion and peripheral neuropathy, 2 1/2 weeks off Sprycel and the symptoms disappeared. Cheerfully,
