RE: CPSIA - Anyone see this?

Hi Colleen,

I think most of this relates to lead based paints on items but there is also

a section about toys 'not for children under age 3'. I make embeds and I

also state that they are not for children under age 3. Have had customers

not purchase items because of this. I'll have to look into this further

because my fish-in-a-bag and mini aquariums sell very well.

Anyone else have any comments or experience with this?

CPSIA - Anyone see this?

This has been a hugely debated topic on another group I am on. I

still can't figure out if handmade soap falls under it or not, but I

know some of you make products for kids that are not soap related &

wanted to pass along the info.

There was something on one of the local news channels about the law

today, very brief, but they were talking about mom & pop businesses

who made plain wood toys for kids & how they would have to test

products. They weren't even painted.

How about those of us who paint soap?

It's very confusing!

Yikes!!! I know some crafters that do wonderful wood toys. They will

probably be out of business. How sad.....
