Guest guest
Hello Genie I am also quite new to this group and found great support. I have just had a hysterectomy and quite a time with glivec and hormones, so it was great that (Downunder) confirmed with Dr that yes, glivec has hormone impact. (He did not state what impact though). For the Living Stuff and not the Techno stuff. I live some 40kms out of our regional centre and drove for the first time today. Looked a treat, pillow stuck in front of my belly with seat belt strapped around me. Looked like a pregnant lady - truck drivers looking down into my car must of gone " What the... " As long as I go forward and do not reverse - am A-OK - should use my mirrors more. Went to the surgeon yesterday, gave me the A-OK and 3 months of work. As stated yesterday, it is great when you have share-care medical working as part of your health team as both my haemoltoligist (Clincial Assoc. Professor) and the Specialist Onocology Gyno both worked together to stop my bleeding problem. Both these guys thought the bleeding problem was due to glivec, cml and age as a combination, who knows. All pathology clear so that is something else not to worry about. Someone else with CML I agree with Lottie: I met someone at a seminar for blood cancers. Put up your hand who had what blood cancer - went thru the list - until the facilitators got to CML and out of about 100 people another person put up their hand. We both screamed and hugged. Everyone laughed as our reaction was at the sametime. It was very exciting, to find someone else with your condition in the Flesh. The young woman lived in my home State but quite away from where I live so we chatted and are in contact. So no techno stuff from me but a warm welcome Cheers Sue (Australia)
