Guest guest
Weight and Fluid I do not take diuretics at all. I use a way of eating named the Salt Skip Program (SSP) It was created by a group of medical Professors in the World Health Organisation for appropriate sodium levels for people from food. What they found though once people had been on the SSP, levels of High Blood Pressure, Meniere's and symptoms of vertigo fell. As did High Cholesterol and Diabetes 2. Even though I use the SSP I still gained some weight. However in Hospital on a very very strict SSP and off glivec for 14 days the weight just disappeared - in fact lost some 1 1/2 stone. Back on glivec and staying on quite a strict SSP and only put on 1/2 stone. This program is well worth the effort even just for general good health. Note: If you are on a SSP you cannot have diurectics because the SSP takes the fluid away. Note: I am on 600mg and also have oedema of the eyes yet again and a small puffiness in my fingers. My husband thinks they look the same but I can tell so must be just marginally. Go to www.saltmatters.org Drs letters - medical information etc is also on the site Recipes - yes there too however closer to home there is a fantastic site that is linked to saltmatters site for sodium reduced recipes www.megaheart.com or www.megaheart.org As a suggestion this is another way to reduce fluid, however all drugs have side effects.
