Guest guest
Dear Group, I can't believe I was actually throwing things away. LOL. I ran across this article I was saving about an agent approved to prevent clots in cancer patients. I thought the information might be helpful to some of you who have already experienced blood clots. Fragmin (dalteparin) became the first drug to prevent blood clots in cancer patients when it was granted. Cancer patients are 7 times more likely to develop a blood clot than someone without cancer. Blood clots, including deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (clots formed in the lungs), develop because cancer cells can increase blood-clotting proteins and platelets, weaken vessel walls or produce fewer proteins called anticoagulants that thin the blood. This is from www.frangmin.com You may also be interested in this PDF file " Patient's Guide to Side effects " . http://www.curetoday.com/backissues/pocketguide/pocketguide_sideeffects.pdf Blessings and peace, Lottie
