Guest guest
Hi , I did put the letter in the files section of the list website. I sent the links but one didn't come through too well (it wasn't clickable because of where the sentence broke)--so here they are again: Senators: http://directory.usayfoundation.org/ Representative: https://forms.house.gov/wyr/welcome.shtml That is great that Dr. Druker is getting a new lab. It makes sense that a building would come largely from private funds--I think that is often the case. I guess the state of Oregon would pick up any that wasn't picked up by private funds. The NIH and NCI don't fund buildings--only research. Maybe our cure will come out of that shiny new lab--wouldn't that be great! BTW, congratulations on your remission. I saw your email a couple weeks ago where you mentioned your remission status. I thought that was a very exciting piece of news. Best wishes, Dorothy On Apr 13, 2008, at 3:25 PM, Cogan wrote: > > Hi Dorothy, > THANK you for representing CMLers in Wash. Dr. Druker calculated that he needed $10 million for this. Rob Shick, who is a Dr. Druker patient, has been involved in the fund raising and has posted about this on Jerry's CML List. One patient's family has donated $5 million and now they have $8 million raised...and Dr. Druker's new lab should open by the end of the year. I will send you a copy of that post....titled Druker's Army. Thanks for the congrats about my CCR status. I have now been CCR on two bmas....6 months apart. My status is always very stable. I never got to CCR on Gleevec, and it took 2 years on Sprycel to get there (a slow responder!!!)..........but I am supplying Dr. Druker the resistant cells that he needs for his research! This is one of his main projects....what creates this resistance in some cells. He is so dedicated to this research. THANK you also for actually putting your letter on this list. I could not open and print the letter from the file....just my old computer. Now I have your great letter to work from and count me in......to Rep. DeFazio and Senators Gordon and Ron Wyden. C.
