Guest guest
- even though I am 50 and had a hysterectomy 6 years ago, I still had 1 ovary and it was behaving poorly after being dx with CML with sweats, dryness etc. So I commenced on a low dose oestrogen patch of oestradiol 50ug/day and apply Mon and Thurs and it has been fantastic! After my fellow aussie Sue's experiences, I am so glad I have had a hysterectomy! Yes like everything there is a slight risk of cancer with the patches, but the benefits far out way the risks. Menopause as we know brings mood changes, dryness, bone loss and more susceptibility to heart attacks, while the risk of breast cancer is slight, especially where there is not a family history. We are lucky in OZ, we have a national breast screening scheme here where we can get free breast screens every 2 years over 50, but under 50's are able to access it also.
