Guest guest
Always the Mom!!!! Lynn F. [ ] No alcohol with Sprycel Dear Jeanny, When I was on Sprycel, I was advised to NOT drink alcohol. I looked it up for you and this is the information stated. Important safety information: a.. Sprycel may cause dizziness or drowsiness. These effects may be worse if you take it with alcohol or certain medicines. Use Sprycel with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to it. b.. Good luck, sometimes even adult children don't listen to us, but maybe she will listen to the doctor or the pharmacist if you call them. I think it would be counter productive if she does. Does she not understand the consequences of drinking with this drug? c.. Blessings, d.. Lottie

Guest guest
jenny, i gona be very frank when you deal with teenagers they wana hear what they wana hear so you have to at least make it understood that she has a serious illness that is not without side effects and the meds. she takes as all of us do, are toxic and alcohol can be toxic : now what is more important? staying alive or having fun? though she's in the middle of her prime, we want to see her live . i went through a period of denial and sometimes thats not so good because you don't take the neccesary precautions to stregnthen your body for the fight ahead and this is a fight (trust me)I am cmr at the moment and still I hv much pains i never had b4 awful athsma ect. so yes the meds. are great but they affect our immune systems and we hv 2 b carefull what goes into our bodies she's yet young, strong, but she does have cml and everything she does will affect her so I pray she will listen to you 'cause mama is always right. good luck and give her our best, insidently, my onc/hem also told me " no alcohol, no tylanol,no grapefriut and johnwort and anything you notice doesn't sit well with youas well. aliza yaffa rochester n.y. **************Need a new ride? Guest guest
jenny there are incredible warriors in this group reading the daily posts has given me a sence of what cml is and how we have to constantly listen to our bodies. if the creator allows many of us to live for many more years, we want to know she's well ;she will be our future warrior to help others deal with this bug and she can be an example as so many on this list have been to me. i hv been in the dark for almost 2 yrs. since i joined the group i now hv questions to ask my onc. I feel more in control now how is she doing on the medication? and what are her stats? i pray they are all favorable. wish her our best aliza yaffa **************Need a new ride?
