Guest guest
Oh, LOL! That's adorable! funny story I thought you parents would find this funny... My son, Danny, has been talking a lot about Disneyland lately. He asks me nearly every day if we can go back there. The other day, we were having this discussion and talking about his favorite rides/attractions. He mentioned the usual stuff (the rollercoaster, the rockets, etc.). Then, a few minutes later, he said " Mom, you know what my favorite thing is at Disneyland? " I asked him what, and he said " My favorite is the jet video game! " It took me a minute to figure out he was talking about the video game at Dr. Goldberg's office!! _________________________________________________________________ Add photos to your e-mail with MSN 8. Guest guest
Dear Laurie, I am so glad you found H20 class.....It is great. Our local facility closed due to funding. I am 59 and also have RA and Lupus and Sjorgren and............whatever comes next???? We recently moved into a Senior Mobile Home Park, needed to downsize. Every day gives me some of the same feeling you had. I am the youngest resident here, so they all share their garden treasures with me and I help them understand their cable TV remote (again, and again and again). We also walk together alot, but you MUST STOP at the lawn chairs in front of each home???? It is tradition.... and we sing, laugh or gossip. Gossip is OK here, because as my 82 year old neighbor said, tomorrow no one will remember anything anyway I started here using a cane and barely able to walk. I now am walking freely and hoping to do an exercise program in the clubhouse....very low impact, chair aerobics. Looking forward to it. Guest guest
Glad to meet you Laurie how funny but sounds like you made wonderful friends! Marsha [ ] Funny Story Hey, This is Laurie from Michigan I have RA and Lupus. I am 39 years old. So today I started a Arthritis H2O class and my city's Rec center. The teacher had us all introduce ourselves names ages and describe our arthritis. At 39 I was the youngest by far, the next closest to my age was 62 and they had all taken the class before. I was feeling out of place and then the class began and they were all moving much better than I was. They were all really suppportive and by the end of the class I was having fun. After the class I knew I made new friends when they invited me to Mcs for a senior coffee! We know your not old enough but we'll will buy it for you so you can get the discount! The good news is I have several new friends and can save 15% on coffee at Mcs. The bad news is I don't think I could beat any of them in a foot race! Gotta Love It, Laurie
Guest guest
Laurie Gosh... Being out ran be a senior... I don't know, I've seen some Seniors really boggy! lol It sounds like you had a good time, and you even got some exercise as well.... I miss my weekly routine exercises, but anymore, I seem to tired to even attempt them... The water exercises sound interesting though.... I've always loved the water! Keep us posted and let us know if its helping.... Perhaps I'll join a local group in a couple of months myself.... Guest guest
I've been considering joining a similar program at my rec center (I'm 31 w/ undiagnosed inflammatory arthritis). The water class is listed in the senior section of the class catalog. In just thinking about it, I've had many moments of humor. I can't believe I wouldn't be the youngest person but who knows. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the class! It is great that the other women were so inclusive of you. --- In , " Laurie Locke (Butts) " <laurielocke@...> wrote: > > Hey, > > This is Laurie from Michigan I have RA and Lupus. Guest guest
I had a similar experience in my water aerobics class and it wasn't even one for arthritis. But they knew all the right moves. Guest guest
The teacher, Patti, and I were the young 'uns in our water aerobics group. She bought a new home that had a pool and all the seniors in our group threatened to take her pool over for Margarita Night. They were a pretty rowdy crew- so much fun! Guest guest
Dear , Funny story. Here's another. A Texan farmer goes to Australia for a vacation. There he meets an Aussie farmer and gets to talking. The Aussie shows off his big wheat field and the Texan says, " Oh! We have wheat fields that are at least twice as large. " Then they walk around the ranch a little, and the Aussie shows off his herd of cattle. The Texan immediately says, " We have longhorns that are at least twice as large as your cows. " The conversation has, meanwhile, almost died when the Texan sees a herd of kangaroos hopping through the field. He asks, " And what are those? " The Aussie replies with an incredulous look, " Don't you have any grasshoppers in Texas? " Have an Aussie laugh, Lottie
