Guest guest
Read the paper you should get with Gleevec,it states stat ins conflict problem both are hard on your liver. I,m surprised your onc. has not said anything. I hope your liver test are good. I went from statins to Zetia 10 mg, which works in the intestines,my results were better than the statinsof which I have taken for 25 years. [ ] Gleevec and Statins I haven't been a faithful list reader lately, but thought I noticed a thread on statins and Gleevec. I have been on statins for as long as I have been on Gleevec without any problems, and that's been almost 7 years.. Margot
Guest guest
Hi , I checked with my pharmacist, who said that it should be ok to take them at least 3 hours apart. He did say that I should talk to the onc about having the liver function tests more often though. I'm hoping that I will be on statins for only a short while. My cardio doesn't really want me taking them and prescribed it as more of a quick fix for my cholesterol. I'm hoping that my LDL gets down to 100 quickly! I haven't needed many meds, other than Lasix and potassium, for almost four years now. My surgery was 8 years ago and I've felt great. My cardio says that he can't even detect a murmur anymore. Take care, Zazzy > > Read the paper you should get with Gleevec,it states stat ins conflict problem both are hard on your liver. I,m surprised your onc. has not said anything. Guest guest
Hi, and Margot. I had to get off statins, too -- had elevated muscle enzymes, although it didn't happen until I'd been on Gleevec for some time. My doctor took me off Lipitor and put me on Welchol, which doesn't work as well. Warm regards. > > Read the paper you should get with Gleevec,it states stat ins conflict problem both are hard on your liver. I,m surprised your onc. has not said anything.
