CML is universal, it doesn't matter where you live, it can happen to you or a loved one any time. We are here for you to lean on.You can expect your daughter to live a long life. With all the emerging treatments there is no reason to believe otherwise. I will be 80 in July and I will also celebrate my 12th CML anniversary. I just wanted to reassure you that it is possible to live a pretty normal life, especially if it's caught and treated early. For most patients, the first drug of choice is Gleevec because it has 10 years of information compiled and for the most part, thousands of patients have benefited from it. There are second generation drugs coming after Gleevec that is also helping patients who do not respond to Gleevec. Now they are working on third generation of drugs that will kill off the immature white cells. There are patients who have lived with CML longer than me. Skip in Nova Scotia has been living 32 plus years, what a fighter he is and what a trooper he is. Bobby has been around over 13 years and there are many more, but they do not belong to this group, so take heart, Jeanny, you will have your daughter for a long time. Your writing and asking questions does not offend anyone, have no fear of that. Blessings and may you find peace in your anxious moments,Lottie[Non-text portions of this message have been removed] _________________________________________________________________ Find hidden words, unscramble celebrity names, or try the ultimate crossword puzzle with Live Search Games.
