Guest guest
Welcome to the family, Jimmy. You did it right. All you have to to do is write what you want to say and don't use the really bad cuss words. I'm , aka De, aka WWD. I'm in Georgia, 49 and probably got mine in the late 70's-early 80's & was diagnosd in Oct 03. I did tx (treatment) thru 04 & have been undectectable for two years post- tx. That means there's very little chance my dragon will resurface. I couldn't have retained my normal level of (in)sanity during my testing and diagnosis and treatment without this group. They became my family that DID understand what I was doing thru. You've come to the right place for answers and empathy and support. First, I want to tell you that if the herbal store had anything that could cure us, we'd all be cured and we wouldn't have to put ourselves thru the sometimes hellatious tx that is our only current option. We do need to eat heathier now and take better care of our bodies and our liver. Some people swear by milk thistle, but my doc says he wouldn't tell me to stop taking it, but he wouldn't tell me to go buy it. The most important thing for you to know is there are NO MIRACLE CURES, so don't throw any money away on any. Second, you need to tell your girlfriend. She has a right to know. And you can't have a relationship with that big a lie in the middle of it. It might be hard to keep it a secret from her when you start tx and I would be madder later when I found out you lied in the beginning. Third, I know you're scared. When I was diagnosed, my thoughts were that I was certain I was dying within the month. Then I did my research. More of us will die WITH hep c than OF it. The next steps after they confirmed the hep c is to determine genotype and viral load. Then you'll need a liver biopsy to see how much damage you have. Then you think about treatment. So you need to take it one step at a time. (I'm assuming you're in the US on this one now) Will your new insurance be a group plan thru your employer or an individual plan? If it's a group plan thru your employer, I don't think they can exclude pre-existing conditions. OK, I've been very long-winded this morning that given a lot of info to take in. Ask us anything. Tell us anything. We've probably been there and know pretty much what you're going thru. Hugs, De > > hello everyone, > my name is jimmy....im new at this not even sure if im doin this > right...just found out yesterday i have hep b core and hep c....im a > lil scared...i feel great...dont drink nor drug anymore....havent for > awhile....i took this test because my girlfriend wanted me to.shes > hep b but she's phobic when it comes to hep c...so i lied to her and > told her i was just hep b....i just came from a herbal store and was > cunfused even more...how do u know a quack from the real deal....plus > my insurance doesnt go into affect until april...with a pre existing > problem will they cover me??? or do i keep my mouth shut and just > play dumb???well im done for now...thank u for welcoming me in ur > group.... j

We are a wacky family here, but we love each other and we are here to support each other with friendship, love & information. We don’t give medical advice, but we talk about our own experiences. These people are often closer to us than our real family when it comes to the hep because we’ve been there, thru the emotions, the pain, the everything, and often our real families just don’t get it (“Well, you LOOK fine….”) > > Anyway, introduce your self when you feel comfortable.
