Guest guest
Hi girls, this was sent to me by my oldes daughter, years ago, and I treasure it: MOTHER’S DAY POEM You were " Mommy " for quite a while When I was still a little child You washed my clothes and wiped my nose, I’m sure that you were often riled. But then as " Mommy " you had no face You had to run a frantic race, to keep me fed and make my bed, But in my heart you had a place. Then " Mom " was what you came to be, as I grew older into me. When I was bad you still got mad, but as a person you had yet to be. As the years go by and I grow older, the way I feel has grown no colder. You still pick me up when I fall down but now I’m sad to see you frown. Most children never really know, the seeds that their mothers sow, When scolding them while they’re a child, will soon bear fruit before a while To make them the way they’ll be, as blossoms on the apple tree. The many things you gave to me, are branches on the tree that’s me. These roses that I give to you, are for the " Mommy " that I knew When I was young and did not know that you tried to make me grow to be myself, but a part of you. The many times I hurt your heart did not make us grow apart, Instead I learned to love you more, and deep down in my inner core, Even though I changed and grew, there’s a part of me this is still you. I hope you see what I’ve tried to say, on this day we call " Mother’s Day, " That without you I could never be, this person that I’ve come to be. This feeling I have is not new a, Mom, Mommy, I love you.
