Guest guest
Dear Sue, Thank you for that feedback information on Meniere's I had it when I was in my early 30's. I was an invalid for a month, couldn't get up or move my head. The doctor gave me antivert, but I understand that plain motion sickness meds over the counter are just as good. Whenever I fly, I have to take it. It also revisits me every once in a while, maybe if I've had something too salty. I was put on a salt free diet for a year. My salt substitute was lemon juice. A lot of food contains sodium, so you require a special diet if it is that severe. The day I came down with the symptoms, I had eaten a bowl of 's soup and a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch (check out the sodium in that!!!!) It happened in the middle of the night and when I awoke, I tried to get out of bed and couldn't. I didn't know who or where I was and thought I was in a mental institution, my head was spinning so fast. I even wondered if that was how it felt to be " crazy " . Every time I moved a muscle, I had to throw up. I think I had an extreme case, but just seeing the name brings back the horror of it all. True vertigo implies disorientation in space or a sensation of movement. I sympathize with anyone who experiences it. Guest guest
Hi guys, about vertigo....I woke up one night, sat bolt upright, and it seemed like someone smacked me right back down. My head spun off my neck and swirled around the room and I could not sit back up. I was so afraid it was a brain tumor or something equally as bad. I was surprised when I was sent to an ENT by my Dr. and it was vertigo. Strange, although it finally disappeared, it does return periodically, only not as severe. I have been very careful ever since about fast movements, I even get out of bed slowly. It is definitely not pleasant, as I recall the Dr. gave me exercises to do, like head movements etc. The meds did not work at all.
