Guest guest
I have been on Gleevec for over a year now and have found that is starting to affect my cognitive development. Occassionally, I will forget small things and then it comes back to me later. I am only 31 years old so I cannot attribute it to age. I've heard others express the same concern and am wondering what folks are doing to curtail this problem. My job requires me to think critically and I cannot afford to mess up on any projects. Guest guest
This was the worst side effect for me. It was specific to Gleevec as I did not have such problems when I took hydroxyurea before starting Gleevec. Like most Gleevec side effects, it got better over time (about 9-12 months), but I have never fully recovered. How to deal with it? Slow down, do less multi-tasking, be more organized, and write everything down. Use calendar/scheduling software. Choose projects which are more focused/structured and require less mental juggling of a lot of data. Ask colleagues, assistants, and friends to remind you of deadlines, meetings, etc. I've had to completely overhaul my working style post-Gleevec. ho ------------------------------------------ I have been on Gleevec for over a year now and have found that is starting to affect my cognitive development. Guest guest
Thanks, Ho. I, too, have done all of these things on Sprycel. Nice to see your name. Someone else from the old List!
