Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I've seen a few people mention over the years how their sense of smell has heightened since taking Gleevec (or the other TKI's) and I've also read several articles that correlate sense of smell to estrogen levels. Of course I'm thinking that here's just more proof that our hormones are affected by the drugs but I'm curious to know how many other people have found that their ability to smell has heightened? For example, I can smell someone smoking a cigarette next door when I'm inside my house (with the window open). No one else smells it but me. I often smell things that others don't. Anyone else? Guest guest
I feel silly writing again, since I just wrote, but I must say that I also have noticed the smell thing. While I have always had a great sniffer -- my husband says I could be a drug-dog at the airport -- I have noticed that I can smell the tiniest things. Others notice nothing. And yes, I sometimes smell -- and taste things -- that are not there. For taste I sometimes taste fish or rubber. Those smells and tastes are so repulsive in those instances.... in minn [ ] Sense of smell Hi Everyone, I've seen a few people mention over the years how their sense of smell has heightened since taking Gleevec (or the other TKI's) and I've also read several articles that correlate sense of smell to estrogen levels. Guest guest
Oh yeah, the heightened sense of smell is very real. ? Even if no one else smells it, I can smell it!? Let's just hope the 'it' is something good, but of course most of the time... it isn't! ? I agree about the hormone connection to the drugs.? More info is better in this case. ? Thanks, Rhonda Re: [ ] Sense of smell I feel silly writing again, since I just wrote, but I must say that I also have noticed the smell thing.
