This was a complication I suffered with it. I subsequently switched to

Doxy and have no such ill-effects. I have not seen anyone else mention

it.

However, there was an unexpected benefit to using Doxy for me. It is

decidedly less expensive, on the order of 1/20th the cost.

Hi Gang:

Edema - what a pain - like many of us I had very swollen ankles and hands so

I decided to try Herbal Tea - diuteric - 2 cups a day and it helped quite a

lot.

Yes, I had terrible pain and edema in my ankles and feet and it was all

related to Naproxen. Once I stopped taking it the edema stopped.

,

My wrists on the tops are shiny too. They feel like after a burn, kind of

sensitive. Is that how your feet felt. It is less than it used to be but

still there. I wouldn't have thought it was from swelling, but could be.

I've never mentioned it to my gp.

Hi Bev,

The bottom of my feet gave me a burning sensation. The top of my

feet just felt like the skin was so tight that it would split wide

open. You know, like a roasted turkey when the skin pops. Ugh LOL Can

I eat turkey after this analogy!

Poor turkey if he feels like us, eh! I find the tendons on the tops of my

feet, one foot worse than the others) hurt like bruises if my clogs rub on

them. Man, what we go through!! I had the walking on marbles on the

bottoms of my feet but I don't anymore. Maybe because I wear my Haflinger

clogs all day and they feel just like my Birks.

I am looking into changing anti inflams or trying VIOXX or Celebrex when I

get my ear better. Maybe a new anti inflam would work better for you too.

I sleep with about five pillows one for my knees and one under my feet it for some reason seems to help.. I got to the point where I could not stand to have my knees tough and it was painful so I started using the pillow.. Now they say to sleep with one for back problems. Since I do still have the problems with my back I am still using my pillows!

I am kinda worried about my mom seems she is on a high dose of prednisone also. I think that because she is dying the doctors are giving her more meds and not worrying about it too much. The problem is that her mind is going and I think some of the meds are causing that to happen. She was very rude to my youngest sister from the first marriage, my sister is kinda stuck taking care of her and she does a good job!! She is also going through some really hard times right now and we are not sharing this with my mom it is not something that she needs to know about. If my sister tells her what is happening then I will support her decision in that.

Peace and wishes for all of you to have a painfree week!!

Sherry

I take prednisone, which causes fluid retention. Perhaps, thesediseases cause edema, too. Anyway, I've had that problem for years whichresulted in ulcers with staph infections, and cellulitis. After goingthrough debridment and having an Una(?) boot for six weeks, I keep my legselevated. If you are sitting, get up periodically and move your legs toincrease circulation, sleep with your legs elevated at least 8 inches aboveyour heart, and keep your legs elevated as much as possible. My feet use to get bluish white, shiny and ache with the feeling theskin was going to split :-(HTHTo unsubscribe, email: rheumatic-unsubscribeegroups

Dear Jen,

Do you have access to a sauna? I know someone who gets rid of her edema

that way and then goes for a long walk afaterward. Take your dog for company.

LOL. It may work for you. I found one sauna at:
