Your platelets were affected more by the CML than your whites were but even still, they're not crazy high like some of us had. I have to ask though, why are you taking Vit B12 shots when your count is through the roof? This doesn't seem very sound to me??? Other than that, I'd say you're in very good shape and very early in your diagnosis. Guest guest Posted June 3, 2008 Report Share Posted June 3, 2008 Tracey, Thanks for the reply.I have had Gastric Bypass surgery and have had bouts of anemia requiring Iron Infusions.The Dr. has me do injections twice weekly to help keep my levels high too avoid the infusions.It usually isn't this high.It normally runs about 2000 range still high but not this crazy.I had just had my injection prior to this lab draw so it isn't an acurate count.Due to my WLS I suffer from vitamin deficincies and have to supplement alot in order to avoid trouble.I also have to drink whey protein shakes as well since I malabsorb food and vitamin/minerals.Is there anything in particular that I need to avoid when I start Gleevec treatment?
