Guest guest
Eva, I echo what Barb in Arizona had to say. Go armed with a huge package of information you have gotten off the net regarding your options. Show her you're not " just another pretty face " and that you have brains to have done some research by next week. It makes me angry when oncs. won't take the time to discuss other options. She sounds like she lacks bedside manners. Good luck next week. Guest guest
Hi Judy, I kind of chewed her out today( In a nice but firm way) and she said she was sorry , she didn't realize that I was upset and that she hadn't answered our questions. That we should have come back and I told her she would not have been pleased if I had let my husband turn around and go back. She told me she has 16 other CML patients and this has happened before with the Neutrophils and that she has every reason to believe that this is just a bump in the road and my levels will come back up. She said I have responded exactly as she hoped I would and this will sort it self out. If for some reason it doesn't then she will sit down and weigh all the options with me and I will decide with her what to do. Thank you guys for your info and encouragement. Guest guest
Thanks Lottie but it has got to the point now that even If I have a good day , once I take that gold pill I am flat on my back most nights. It is certainly better that the alternative but I would just like to feel like my self for a couple of days. There are many drugs you can take for depression, and perhaps there is one that will be just right for you. It's hard to be positive when you are depressed and it is not unusual to be when you are on TKI drugs. Like you, most people live with it, just glad to be alive, but it would be great to have a better QOL. Good luck. It will be the first anniversary of your re-birth. I don't remember who coined that word, but it's one to keep in mind. Blessings, Lottie
