Guest guest
Kath, oral thrush (overgrowth of Candida albicans in the mouth) is more likely to be associated with the medications used to treat RA rather than with RA itself. It can be caused by a variety of immunosuppressants like the prednisone you've been on. MedlinePlus " Oral thrush " : http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000966.htm I'll tell you where to go! Mayo Clinic in Rochester http://www.mayoclinic.org/rochester s Hopkins Medicine http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org [ ] thrush > Hi, > > I just read something on here about thrush and was surprised to see it. I have it now! I've only had it twice in a lifetime, both in the past six months. Does thrush have anything to do with RA? > > Kath
Guest guest
Dear Vicki, You are perfectly right, I remember now what you are saying. The antibiotics are what caused it in the first place as they kill off the good bacteria at the same time and yogurt is good, but some people don't tolerate milk products very well. I love yorurt, will even eat it plain, I bought a yogurt maker years ago when I was working and used to bring the yogurt to work, but I don't even know where the thing is today. The Gentian Violet worked well in it's day, and it was messy, everything turned purple, especially when you were trying to give it to a baby that was blowing bubbles. Hee hee. Well your memory serves you well enough and you have people around you that can help you out when that word just won't pop out of your head. I can always tell you what you are trying to say, but I can't help myself. LOL. I like that about stirring of brains cells, but in my case, I don't know how much brain I have left. It comes and goes with the tides. LOL. Blessings, Lottie

Guest guest
I believe you get thrush due to bacteria imbalance in your body. It breaks out threw intestinal walls. Have you taken antibiotics lately ??    I have taken organic coconut oil internally for it. 1 tbspn 3 x a day. A good brand mad from fresh squeezed pulp not dried copra.   Coconut oil has many benefits  , please go to cocnut foundation and read a little there, it is and antifungal, you could try also garlic ........1 organic clove 3-4 times a day. Maybe your gut is out of balance.......................... God Bless !! dragonflymcs Mayleen ________________________________ From: Bunny <iluvbunnies5262@...> Sent: Thu, October 14, 2010 3:57:09 AM Subject: [] Thrush  I have not been here in a while but seems I have thrush and can't figure out why. Guest guest
No antibiotics in many years. I can't even recall antibiotics just CSM 2006-2007 and Low Dose Naltrexone since 2004. No other meds just vitamins/herbs. I do take garlic, oil of oregano and have tried olive leaf and take acidolphilus and eat yogurt. I'm going to get some more fresh garlic and chomped on that and have dragon breath! I'm starting to think that some whitening mouthwashes I have used and toothpaste may have caused this messing up the flora in my mouth. I didn't use the mouthwashes daily but some of the toothpaste I did. I just wish I didn't have to end up taking antifungal mouthwash/meds to rid of it. I'm trying natural approaches. Changed toothe brushes and also soak them in peroxide after each use. I even gargled with CSM I had left over but only once. I really do not want to take that internally unless really need too. I also have taken vegetarian glucosamine since Spring and wonder about that b/c read derived from corn. Corn is known for fungus and GMO. I've stopped that now but if from that is here to stay until rid of. They came up with that b/c so many allergic to shellfish but just what corn are they using and how do they get glucosamine/msm out of corn....I don't know and didn't investigate. > > I believe you get thrush due to bacteria imbalance in your body. It breaks out > threw intestinal walls. Have you taken antibiotics lately ?? Guest guest
If you have thrush, white coating in tongue, that is candida and not a fungal infection of mouth, which would have been allowed to take over in mouth due to low amt of beneficial bacteria. Maybe you are using too many harsh things in mouth , killing off beneficial bacteria and leaving mouth susceptible to candida. The beneficial bacteria are what create the moisture/ or less attractive description of 'slime' in your mouth, that protects your mouth. Kill them off and you create a dry climate that candida can grow in. Also possible cause of thrush/candida are drugs that dry your mouth out as well as gi tract, essentially also killing off beneficial bacteria that way. > > No antibiotics in many years. Guest guest
OK...................Try swallowing garlic not chewing it is better. Like if they were capsules. If too large then cut long ways in 2 or 3 pieces and drink with a glass of water. No more dragon breath LOL................   Try the coconut oil.................I used it succesfully when I had it. Know I take it regularly. At least 1 tblspn a day. When treating it was 3 a day.  God Bless !! dragonflymcs Mayleen ________________________________ From: Bunny <iluvbunnies5262@...> Sent: Fri, October 15, 2010 3:37:45 AM Subject: [] Re: Thrush  No antibiotics in many years.
