Guest guest
I have always taken my Gleevec with breakfast with water, while also drinking coffee with my breakfast. I have never had a problem with this. I might say that my memory is also taking a hit. I just cannot always remember the right word for the thing I want to say. I see the picture in my mind of what it is, but the word just does not come at the right time. I don't necessarily think that this is only due to Gleevec--I think some of us might have that problem anyhow, myself included. Guest guest
I'm not alone. Doesn't that, all on it's own, feel good? I think I'm in a 'poor me' type of mood today. After reading other posts I want to kick myself. I " KNOW " I am not having the worst side effects, but I also won't know until at least next month if the medication is doing it's job. And it is annoying to be sitting on the couch watching tv and suddenly get a wiff of something and say " Gross, do you smell that? " and have everyone look at me like I'm purple with rainbow color spots! I usually don't say anything anymore. Someone else said something about cycles, every few months a side effect seems worse than others... I agree. This week is a headache and TIREDNESS!! It has actually been warm (75 ish) and sunny for a week in a row. Today it is rainy- and it's like my body just shut down. Luckily, I was able to crawl back into bed today. I work mostly from home - so I can just work tonight when I can't sleep cause I slept this morning. As for coming up with the right word, it usually takes me longer than it did before. I use a lot of " You know - when you put things in a box to sell at the store... Packaging! " Or something like that. Thanks everyone! Guest guest
Hi Tammy, Have you ever thought of using an ADHD medication to help with focusing? I take a major tranquilizer which would not be appropriate for you (probably) but it has cured that " search for the word " syndrome which I also had. Dexadrine is a symptom reliever, I think.; Why not check with your onc?
