Guest guest
Hi Eva here from town, I was told that Dr. Lipton is the best in Canada. Let me know what he said . Good Luck and God Bless. Eva From: stephzour Sent: Thursday, June 19, 2008 10:13 PM Subject: [ ] Hydroxyurea Hi! My boyfriend has been on hydroxyurea/hydrea for over a month now. He has been on it for this long because we have not had access to Gleevec so far. We are waiting for our trillium papers to come through, but luckily we just recently were given one months supply of Gleevec. His blood counts went back to normal after about 3 weeks on hydrea, however after our appointment today, his platelet levels were really high, and his WBC's were very high again. He will start the Gleevec (finally) tomorrow. Has anyone had similar experiences with the hydrea? I am a little worried that since he already built some type of resistance to hydrea, then will have the same reaction to Gleevec??? Also, we are making an appointment with Dr. Lipton for an informational meeting. I heard through someone he is the go to guy in my area. Is this true? Is he someone worth going to visit? Thanks! Guest guest
Hi Stephe, Dr. Lipton is probably the best CML doctor in Canada. You should consider having him as your primary CML doctor. Guest guest
Hi Steph, I've been reading medical journal articles for a long time (6.5 years) and I've seen more articles and abstracts authored by Dr. Lipton than any other Canadian Doctor. He's also the name you see on articles that are co-authored with the big docs in the States like Dr. Druker, Dr. Talpaz, Dr. Goldmen and others so I wouldn't hesitate for a second to see him, in fact, I'd consider it a privilege. Guest guest
Hi Steph. Dr. Lipton is the guy to see . My doctor at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga trained with Dr. Lipton. She talks about him all the time . Good Luck and God Bless. Did you contact Novartis? Guest guest
Hi Eva. I got a hold of some papers I need to apply for financial assistance through Novartis. So we are in the process of filling them out and then hopefully they can assist us in buying the pills. I really hope we get an appointment soon with Dr. Lipton. I am anxious to meet him and ask him tons of questions. Thanks Eva, Steph > > > > Hi!
