Guest guest
Dear Christa, Here are the instructions on preparation of saline solution to irrigate sinuses. I would however, if you keep having a problem, ask your ENT to do a culture to see what colonies you may have in your sinuses. I have had 3 different infections, Haemophilus influenzae, MRSA and pseudomonas. They are all unusual, but with CML, anything is possible, right? To make 1 quart: 2 tsp. salt, 4 tsp. vinegar to a quart of warm water. 2 " 4 tsp. salt, 8 tsp. vinegar to 2 quarts of warm water 1 cup 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. vinegar to 1 cup warm water. I use a neti pot and when I am done, I spray it with Mr. Clean, the only really effective cleaner to kill the pseudomonas bacteria. I let it soak in for a few minutes and then I rinse under hot water faucet and then shake in a plastic container with alcohol to really cleanse it and wrap in clean cloth for the next use. It's important to sanitize it or you will keep giving yourself the same germs. Treatment of local Pseudomonas infection is usually successful and complications are rare. However, in patients with poor immunologic resistance — premature infants, elderly patients, or those with debilitating disease, burns, or wounds — septicemic Pseudomonas infections are serious and sometimes fatal. Blessings and good luck, Lottie
