Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I'm still PCRU on 100 mg Sprycel 100 mg once a day. My counts are those of a perfectly (and I do mean perfectly) healthy woman of my age. I have no complaints whatsoever. No side effects. Had my 3-month check-up yesterday. New guidelines for Sprycel trials are the following: no need to do bone marrow tests for the trial though you can decide to do them in accord with your physician. I think at this point I'll do one once a year but may not even need to do that if my counts remain what they are. No, no on grapefruit juice but there's a new one -- no pomegranate juice. Same as grapefruit juice. Cheers!
Guest guest
Wow...Pomagranate is a no no too!?!?! I drink loads of it! Hadn't heard that one...in fact...even though I go to a major cancer center in Boston, I was never given a list of foods to avoid by my doctors. All my info has come from online groups such as this one.
Guest guest
Hi Genie, Well, the reason grapefruit and pomegranate juices being no-nos is that they increase the effects of Sprycel -- including side effects. For people on Gleevec (no grapefruit juice) it can be a way of " increasing " your dosage for those stuck on low dosages because of trials! 2 ways to look at it. Cheers! Guest guest
I have not read it, but I was told my oncologist to follow the same protocols as Gleevec as it relates to grapefruit juice, tylenol and other stuff. Guest guest
I was told the grapefruit stops the sprycel from working, not increase side affects. But too have not heard anything about pomegranate Anita [ ] Re: New Sprycel Guidelines Wow...Pomagranate is a no no too!?!?! I drink loads of it!
