Guest guest
Dear Group, What are hormones? We seem to have touched upon a subject that has drawn a lot of interest. I have done a little research that you might be interested in or even find your own symptom. These topics cover the endocrine gland system to help you better understand what could be your particular problem and what hormone you may be deficient in. Just my nickel's worth. A hormone (from Greek - " to set in motion " ) is a chemical messenger that carries a signal from one cell (or group of cells) to another. All multicellular organisms produce hormones (including plants - see phytohormone). The function of hormones is to carry information to the target cells; the action of hormones is determined by the pattern of secretion and response of the receiving tissue - the signal transduction response. The best-known animal hormones are those produced by endocrine glands of vertebrate animals, but hormones are produced by nearly every organ system and tissue type in a multicellular organism.Endocrine hormone molecules are secreted (released) directly into the bloodstream, while exocrine hormones (or ectohormones) are secreted directly into a duct, and from the duct they either flow into the bloodstream or they flow from cell to cell by diffusion in a process known as paracrine signalling. Guest guest
I just got home from a 13 hour day at work... No need to beat me up as thats already done!!! Hormones... Heck daisy still has um! And she is up there in dog years... Yes, lasix doesn't mix well with some stuff. Be sure to check that one on line for interaction notices. I think we always have hormones and thats why it such an easy thing to blame all the side effects. I think the lower dose is working much better, and i am relieved. I really LOVE my stem cell transplant doc, just hope to never really need the guy. However he is a wonderful source of information and also helped with the calcium issues/heart flutter thingee. Glad to have avoided that bp medicine! If i could have him as my primary that would be wonderful but not sure what that does about the study. I will check...just for you Lottie! Gotta go take care of Lili and daisy. Talk to you and jimmie soon. R Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry [ ] Hormones Dear Rhonda, How dare you insinuate that just because I am 80, I don't have hormone problems? LOL Found out Lasix gives me hot flashes. Anyone else have that as a side effect? I think you should ask for another doctor, it's done all the time. Can you get your hormones checked to see if there is any truth to what she is saying? Over time, I think any drug will eventually cause side effects. When Gleevec made it's debut, everyone clamored for it because it was said it had no side effects. Anyone who has been on Gleevec or any cancer drug for several years would debate that. Some people sail through Sprycel, but many, like you have a difficult time. When I was in the BMS trial, the first thing that happened to me was the terrible headaches, bone and joint aches and fever. When I called the clinic, they said I should go to the hospital. Your doctor wants you to ignore it? Maybe she needs a refresher course, or an attitude adjustment. If we were all clones, we could expect to all have the same results and/or side effects. Stop bad mouthing me, or I will leave early and go beat you up about the head and shoulders before you leave for your vacation. LOL On second thought, all is forgiven, wouldn't want to disappoint Lili. Blessings anyway, Lottie
