Guest guest
Hey Sharon, My first BMA was done in the ER by my Oncologist it was no fun at all. The second one I had was at MDACC I think I must have had that Matt refers too as it really was not bad at all. This last time I went I was scheduled to have partial sedation. Lottie and I were at MDACC at the same time and we were staying in the same Hotel, she kept telling me she had never heard of anyone having sedation. The morning of our appointments I was so long in the lab (veins are horrible) that I missed my sedation appt. I was in the waiting room when Lottie sat back down with Jimmie and was just carrying on as if she had just had her hair trimmed when in fact she had just had a BMA/BMB I think that makes it 30+ plus she has had (I believe Bobby mentioned the other day she had over 40). This gave me the courage to have my procedure done again without anything, I thought if this 80 yr old Lady can have this done and not bat an eyelid surely I can. It was not bad at all and in the end I was glad I could just get up and go to the mall and then take my kids swimming (I couldn't get in, no water contact for 24hrs) while my Husband had a nap!!! (in his defense he had driven 11 hrs the day before to get to Houston). I found that walking alot after the procedure helped to stop my leg from being stiff. Good luck!!!! Guest guest
Hey Lottie, I may have made a mistake, (due to old age!!) was it 35 bmb/bma's we have had or was it 45????? After 10 who the hell cares, it's just that I did say the other day we've both had about 45. I wouldn't want to go down in history as being a liar.and drag you with me, Bobby a (Bobby) Doyle Brecksville, Ohio, USA DX 05/1995 02/2000 - Gleevec Trial/OHSU 06/2002 - Gleevec/Trisenox Trial/OHSU 06/2003 - Gleevec/Zarnestra Trial/OHSU 04/2004 - Sprycel Trial/MDACC, CCR in 10 months #840 - Zavie's Zero Club 09/2006 - out of CCR 04/29/08 - XL228 Trial/ U.of Michigan 06/02/08 - CCR ( in 4 weeks) From: donnaberry99 <no_reply > Subject: [ ] Sharon S Date: Monday, August 4, 2008, 1:11 PM Hey Sharon, My first BMA was done in the ER by my Oncologist it was no fun at all.
