Guest guest
Tammy Good idea to speak with Novartis Speak also with your specialist asap Have you started to take any other medications that may also make you feel YUK or taking glivec a different way - meaning with different foods or with juice instead of water something. like that - not drinking enough water with glivec - making sure you move and do not sit or lay down - just brainstorming for you. I have had to change from having muslei and milk - yoghurts for breakfast with glivec to no diary products until the afternoon or I am like yourself " just plain sick " . Now onto 3 pieces of toast, no butter, just jam and then glivec with 600ml of water. In Australia chat group - another CML doctor thought they may have always been lactose intolerant (mildly)' but glivec bought it on as a classic case of Lactose Intolerance. I think that is what has happend to me. The difference is amazing of not having diary within 4 hours or so of glivec is amazing. Sue
Guest guest
Sue, Actually - after process of elimination - a bowl of cereal and milk are the best to take my Gleevec with. Then - sitting for at least 1/2. It is funny that you say the exact opposite. Guest guest
Hi, Every one has a different reaction to Gleevec. You need to experiment a bit to find out what is best for you. My routine is to have a bowl of dry cereal with milk and then take my pills right away. I take a total of 6 pills (one of which is Gleevec) with a big glass of water. I have tried taking the pill without eating any food. I have no side effects when I do this.
