Guest guest
I was on 400 mg gleevec for 5 years. I am now on tasigna. However in regard to the muscle, joint and bone pain, it was awful for the beginning. Eventually what I found was that it cycled then, and would be gone for a while only to return after about 3 months. It did seem bearable after a while. I know of folks who eventually had it all settle down and remain good. Myself, that, along with other side effects, made it necessary for me to switch to tasigna. I have NO side effects. It is amazing. It may be wise to stay on gleevec to see if you are one of the ones that begin to tolerate the side effects. Many do. And if not, you always have the option to change drugs. Isn't it wonderful that what used to be a life threateneing disease, now have drug protocol options? My, 2008 is not a bad time to have leukemia eh? We are all so very lucky to have choices. Blessings and good luck. Barb > > > > Hi everyone! I hope you all enjoyed the holiday. Well, I've been on > > Gleevec for 10 days now, and boy am I feeling the side effects!!
