Guest guest
Thank you, Tracey. I do have a concern about wearing out my sternum since neither hip is viable anymore. [ ] Re: BMB Schedule Hi , There are as many different opinions on this as there are doctors. My personal feeling is that if you've been in a stable CCR or better, with no history of mutations or clonal evolutions (this is why early BMB's are so important to have) then you really don't need to have BMB's that often after (if ever). I know that some of the big doctors will still do them every 18 months to 2 years after a person is PCRU but there are also big doctors who don't do any after PCRU. Again from my personal perspective, I've chosen not to have anymore unless there's a dramatic change in my PCR trend. I guess it's a very personal choice with no real right or wrong answer. Take care, Tracey > > Hi Everyone, > > I have been PCRU on Sprycel for more than a year and have been getting BMA's every 6 months. Bone marrow tests are done on my sternum because both hips are shot. > > I have heard from more than one source that BMB's are unnecessary more than once a year for people who are PCRU. I managed to get my next scheduled BMB in July changed to September but have to have one then. Bristol Meyers recently told Sprycel trial docs that they could use their own judgment about when to do BMBs instead of strictly doing one every 6 months. > > Any thoughts on this? > > > >
