Would everyone please " snip " all but the essential information so relies

aren't so long? Imagine what those on digest see if we reply and don't

delete. The below is an example of just one post.

This request comes up often, but many of us (myself included) are often posting

from gadgets that don't let you snip-hoping the technology will catch up at some

point, but some gadgets just don't let you do it yet. I also don't like the

whole message thread, but some times it will happen.

All " gadgets " allow it. Just awkward, I admit. And when I am in a situation

where I can't easily, then I copy and paste the old message in to a new one

and start again.

NO, all gagdets do not. I operate some gadgets from a wi fi hotspot, and

snipping is not an option, nor is copy and paste. They will catch up, sooner or

later. Until then, we just have to be a bit more tolerant.

Ah, then I just write my own.

I always consider those on digest.

I agree with . Here on my laptop it is easy, but if answering with

my old Palm or even my new ipad, I have tried to copy and paste and

" snip " but neither work.

I can copy and paste email on my iPad, but not on Facebook. I wonder if it has to do with the email program? On May 29, 2012, at 1:22 AM, "Velda " <solomon@...> wrote:

Yes, it is inconvenient to snip a post when visiting the group via iPad (or

whatever gadget you may be using), but I do my best b/c scrolling thru those

loooooooonnnnnggggg posts is such a waste of precious time... ;-)

I have been able to bring up a "copy" button on my ipad, but can't

figure out how to highlight exactly what I want, much less how to

"paste" from that. And yes also not on FB.

I am so darn sorry I ever brought this up. But, I wish all of you would

switch to digest (Gee, the intro email suggests this) and look at what that

is like. Just LOOK BELOW and imagine that times 30 emails. Yes,,,all of this

is repeated, every time if you don't snip. So a digest is all of these

posts, with all of these replies times dozens.

Sorry, it us just darn insensitive and rude.

And I will go No Mail and not be part of it any longer.

Velda, to "copy" on your ipad, just hold your finger over the word or text you want to copy-I little box will appear saying "select (for just a word or phrase) "select all" (for the entire page, photos and all) there will be two little dots-just drag those dots over the part you want to copy, hit select and then it will give you a box-choose "copy". When you get to where you want to copy it TO, just put your finger on the screen and hold it again, another box will pop up that says "paste"-it will plop the whole part you selected into the new place!Sent from my iPadOn May 29, 2012, at 10:56 PM, Velda <solomon@...> wrote:

All I have seen come up is "copy" no other words to allow me to

select more or less. Gonna have to play with that. Thanks

, I responded to this AND closed the thread, but you seem determined that

we are out to intentionally be rude. As I have clearly stated, and others have

agreed, sometimes it is NOT possible. I moderate many groups and am well versed

in the etiquette of trimming posts, but I am also considerate enough to know

that not only are there many new people who may not know such tricks yet, but

there will never be a " perfect " group that can accomodate all of the ins and

outs. Sorry you find it " insensitive and rude " =we are neither. I AM on digest,

and when I find a lengthy post, I am quite capable of scanning through it

without it ruining my day-I am grateful that I live somewhere where I have such

ready access to the internet and valuable info-I don't mind the " inconvenience "

of glossing over a few extras.

Perhaps going no email IS a better option for you, since you don't seem very

tolerant of the " imperfections " of online groups. Shame, since we really are a

rather fabulous bunch, with plenty to share. and I feel sure we could have

learned from you as well...just not in such a chastising way, please.

Yeah but it's a pain on the iPad. Why not just delete the messages one is not interested in or read the response which is at the top if the message and ignore the rest?TerrySent from my iPadHDOn May 29, 2012, at 11:10 PM, Berry <berrywell@...> wrote:
