I thought the video interesting, but would never copy all his

ingredients and make the smoothie his way. You are right, way too many

ingredients. I like to keep it simple, and few ingredients as I feel

like on a given day. I always use greens but rotate the type, using kale

more than others, but also use spinach, and lettuce. I use usually some

other veggies such as half a big cucumber and a stalk or two of celery.

Then I add some fresh fruit (usually an apple, no banana as I am

allergic), then a few frozen ingredients, usually mixed berries, but

also frozen mango chunks from Costco or Sam's. I also add a chunk of

fresh organic ginger and often squeeze in the juice of one of my

wonderful meyer lemons from my tree. Usually that is sweet enough for

me. I also do carrots sometimes and other fresh fruits such as

pineapple. Just depends on the day and what I found at store for a good

price. Watermelon is coming in here in CA so that will be added now too.

I have learned through both experiment and from " listening " to people in

this group, that often simple is better (and certainly easier).

I have a juicer and can make juice, but most of the time I like the

thickness and fiber of my VM smoothies. I don't often add protein powder

(though I am slowly using up the Nectar powder that they sell at VM

demos, but won't be buying more since I now know so much more about

vegetables protein content. I do not add dairy, but will add nuts for

their creaminess sometimes (sunflower seeds, almonds, cashews). OH and

most of the time I add whole flax seed and or chia seed and let them

become totally smooth in the VM.

experienced people think and could share on this subject. I'd like to step up to

something more nutritional than greens/fruit, even a cleanse or juice festing,

(but not all that sure where to start).
