Guest guest
Well, last night I tried making lemonade for Dh. I peeled the 3 large lemons and cut off both ends. Then I sliced them and removed any seeds I saw. Put in one cup of water, the lemons, and ice with a little liquid Sweetleaf stevia and then some more. It was still extremely tart! Dh is a trooper so he drank it saying he liked a little bite but I know he loves the Dinosaur icky sweet ones. Maybe next time I will remove the outside down to the fruit. Today I tried the simple Skinny Shake: 1/2 c pom pomegranate juice, 1 c fresh local strawberries (some with hulls when I remembered it was okay to put them in), squirt of lemon, and 1 1/2 cups ice (extra 1/2 c since the berries weren't frozen). I had it with a salad of romaine lettuce, vine ripened tomato, celery, red onion, yellow pepper, broccoli slaw, Penzey no salt spice, ground black pepper, sweet basil, and red wine vinegar, with a one tsp drizzle of evoo since I am just starting on the downsizing from a whole tablespoon of evoo. I have to say the Skinny Shake is delicious and would probably be able to drink two of them. I did have to use the tamper today and got one 12 ounce glass. Yum. Guess I was too chicken to try the green smoothie today! Kathy

Guest guest
Hi Kathy!IME (in my experience :-) ONE Lemon would be enough for a batch of lemonade "maybe" two (if they were small). I think that if you try it again with one Lemon (then taste to see if that is enough) you might really like it (and save $$ on Lemons! :-) Blessings,Lea Ann SavageSatellite Beach, FL(321) 773-7088 (home)(321-961-9219 (cell)www.BlenderLady.com(AKA the Vitamix Lady :-)<))>< On Jun 11, 2012, at 6:21 PM, katg57 wrote: Well, last night I tried making lemonade for Dh. Guest guest
I'm a VM newbie too.. and my first lemonade try was also something less than successful .. drinkable if necessary.. but it wasn't so I didn't. But a few days ago I tried the Basil Cucumber Lemonade posted in the Recipes section of this group.. delicious! (Many thanks to Colleen for that particular recipe) Next time I will cut wa-a-a-y back on the Truvia.. maybe start with just a couple of teaspoons.. but 'refreshing' really was the perfect description.
