Guest guest
Hi Ana, Low potassium is a known side effect of Gleevec although I don't think I've seen low sodium listed as a side effect. If your mother is taking a diuretic then that could cause both low potassium and low sodium. It's important to keep her electrolytes in the normal range or her heart can be affected so if she is taking a diuretic, make sure to tell her doctor and maybe he can adjust her dose or add potassium to her regime. Take care, Tracey > > is it normal to have low levels in potasium and sodium?? > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Are you taking a diuretic? When my doc prescribed one for me (he said Gleevec can bring on edema), he said to make sure to eat bananas or another high-potassium food to counteract the depletion that comes with it.
