Guest guest
Missy The ultimate decision does rest with you, but as for my son and I, He and I have both stepped on rusty nails and never went for a tetanus shot. My AS son has never had a vaccination of any kind, I have not had any since I was a small child, 50 years ago. I hope this helps in some way. Most tetanus shots contain mercury. You can check here http://www.vaccinesafety.edu/thi-table.htm Waiting a week makes no sense, so it appears the doctor is not concerned about possible tetanus from the infected hair, he just wants you to be " current " . I would waive it, because of the mercury content. If you do step on a nail or something, and it doesn't bleed [tetanus requires an anaerobic environment, and blood is not anaerobic, so if it bleeds you are okay], then you can consider remedies. Immune globulin is usually recommended for people who don't want the shot http://www.mothering.com/sections/experts/tenpenny-archive.html#tetanus Dana
Guest guest
I would personally not even remotely consider having a tetanus vaccine for an ingrown hair. L. Guest guest
The old man struggles to get up from the couch then Starts putting on his coat. His wife, seeing the unexpected behavior, asks, 'Where are you going?' He replies, 'I'm going to the doctor.' She says, 'Why, are you sick?' He says, 'Nope, I'm going to get me some of that Viagra stuff.' Immediately the wife starts working and positioning herself to get out of her Rocker then begins to put on her coat. He says, 'Where the hell are you going'' She answers, 'I'm going to the doctor, too.' He says, 'Why, what do you need?' She says, 'If you're going to start using that rusty old thing, I'm getting a tetanus shot.'
